Our Young People’s counselling service offers counselling to young people between 10-25 who are suffering as a result of the breakdown of their parents’ relationship. Sometimes it is hard to talk to those closest to you, particularly if they are tied up with their own problems. Counsellors are specifically trained to work with young people in a confidential and supportive way. Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk to someone about your feelings and concerns and helps you to find ways to manage them. You can come for counselling on your own, it is a confidential service. The only time we would break confidentiality would be if you told us about someone, including yourself, being at risk from harm.
Each session will last between 20 minutes and an hour and you may meet with your counsellor several times. You will not be asked to make any payment for the counselling. However the service costs £45 per hour and we will ask your parents or guardians to pay something towards this cost if they can and if they know you are coming for counselling.
